Blue Heron Cottage Green Riffle Cottage River House (up on bluff)
The North Umpqua Retreat offers three riverfront houses for rent at daily and weekly rates. Two are 1930's vintage cedar-shingled cottages which have been renovated for comfort while still preserving their original character. One is a spacious two-story house situated right along the riverbank and with a modern open design. All are fully-furnished with full-sized and well-equipped kitchens and laundry facilities, and have wood floors, private drives, ample parking (e.g. room for boat and trailer), gas or charcoal barbeque grills, and spacious yards that overlook the private reach of river and quiet old-growth forest beyond. A trail offers private river access for summertime swimming and year-round fishing for steelhead and trout. The Blue Heron Cottage (1Br,1Ba) has 1 Queen bedroom, 1 bathroom, and features a glass-front woodstove and fieldstone chimney for cozy evening fires, and a cedar deck overlooking the river. A giant sycamore tree provides ample summer shade for picnics and lounging in the hammock. Nightly rates are $100 single-couple, with one night free for every week reserved. The Green Riffle Cottage (3 Br, 1.5 Ba) has 2 Queen and 1 Full bedrooms, 1-1/2 bathrooms, classic front porch, television with DVD/VHS player, tall redwood tree in the front yard, and outside fire pit. Nightly rates are $120/single-couple plus $30 for each additional bed used (maximum six people), with one night free for every week reserved. The River House (3Br, 2 Ba) has 4 Queen beds (2 are in a large shared room) two bathrooms, a spacious open living room, dining area, and giant tiled kitchen. The living and dining room view overlooks the river rapids that salmon and steelhead swim through, while eagles and osprey fly by at eye level. An outside deck also overlooks the rapids, and a trail goes down to the bedrock-edged river. Nightly rates are $150/single-couple and $50 for each additional bed used, with one night free for every week reserved. Corporate and government per diem rates are considered on a space-available basis. Cell phone service is provided in the area by Verizon and US Cellular. Wireless hi-speed internet service is available on the property (strongest at the River House). Monthly rentals are considered, on a space available basis. Visa and MC accepted. Rental Policies: · Reservations require a fifty-percent non-refundable deposit with a Visa or Mastercard. · A cleaning fee of $50 applies to all one-night stays. · No pets or smoking are permitted on the premises. · Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is noon. · Renters accept all risk of using outside grounds, trails, and river. · Repairs for damage beyond normal use or missing items will be charged to the credit card. · Rates (and these policies) are subject to change without notice.
